The 501/453/RAC Cable Gland is a Group II certified double-seal gland designed for installation in Zone 1/21 and Zone 2/22 hazardous areas. It is dual certified ATEX/IECEx for use in Increased Safety (Exe), Flameproof (Exd), Restricted Breathing (ExnR), and Dust (Ext) protection. The gland features an integral grounding ring, making it suitable for single wire armour, wire braid, and tape armour, and is compatible with elastomer and plastic insulated cables. It provides an elastomeric Exd flameproof compression seal on the inner sheath and a low smoke, zero halogen IP retention seal on the outer sheath. Additional features include a metallic body, reversible armour clamp, a patented tightening guide to prevent over-tightening, and a rear seal for wide cable acceptance, with options for metric or NPT threadforms.
